A friend who lives in Las Vegas is anxious to escape the desert and get in some flyfishing. Does anyone have suggestions for guides/trips around Southern Utah?

    many thanks!

I don’t know any guide in the southern part of the state but my wife and I fished a couple of place down there last year that were pretty fun. We fished the Fremont River and Mammoth Creek. Caught a bunch of fish but nothing huge. Lots of fun though and easy to do yourself. I have one more piece of advice. Bring beer with you!!! It is very hard just finding a place that sells beer in Southern Utah. I usually fill a couple of growlers before I even leave Montana! 😉

actually I was inquiring about southern utah on behalf of a friend, and I’m not sure what his plan are exactly. I know he lives in Las Vegas and was thinking southern utah would be a manageable drive for some regular fishing. hearing you guys talk about it sounds like fun! I wish I were going.

I am ready to get back out west. fingers crossed, it’ll be june for me…

We got a ton of snow…..better make it July if you want to miss run-off.

you know, you are validating my hunch…

years ago I used to come out to MT first week of july. but the past few years with the drought and the fires, it’s just been better and better earlier in june. last year I came out june9th. fishing was sublime

so I’ve had it in my head I need to get out there the same week but real-life logistics might not let me get out there until last week of june, staying well into july

I was kinda bummed, but then I was thinking…with all the snow this year maybe that’s better. I thought I was kinda rationalizing but you just made me feel better about it!!

But then again, Billings was 64 degrees the other day, and we are supposed to be in the 50’s all week.
