Eagle:1
Carp: Pwned

Very cool G&G :).
A delicacy in many countries. Carp that is. 😛
Nice work Brett!
Great shot, Brett.

Dang.
Thanks Olle, DB, Zach, and Dave.
Thanks Olle, DB, Zach, and Dave. Â I was talking to a friend about this image and wondered what kind of message it sends about proper fish handling. Â The carp is more than 12″ above the surface, inverted, and appears to be under too much grip pressure.
It was then pointed out to me that at least the fish is being supported with both talons, so it’s probably OK.  🙂

If that ‘s a bubba eagle he’s just going to take it home, show it to the misses, then wrap the fish in tin foil and throw it into the icebox anyway. What a waste….. :'(
That is a wonderful photo…nice work.
That was not a trained eagle was it? You might lose your photographer of the post award if it was ;D
That is a tremendous picture!!
Thanks

That is muy-muy funny Keith & Rich.
I used a model but in the end I’m not sure which route is really the most work. Â All the binging and purging were Hell to put up with and I could only use a live carp under direct supervision of PETR (People for the Ethical Treatment of Roughfish). Â Next time I’m having Graham Owen tie me a carp and I’m going with a non-resident alien raptor.
That is a great photo, I love watching Fish Eagles and Osprey fish. Ospray are really cool and can flap just the tips of their wings. They are small birds, and I love watching them drag a 2lbs fish out of the water.
AND
This thread is very full of funny… I [smiley=lolk.gif]’ed lots…
