My wife and I are headed for Grand Cayman toward the end of the month. I plan to fly fish for bonefish for five days.

Has anyone been there? Can you offer any advice as to spots and flies?

    Thanks in advance!

    Steve,

As of three years ago there were only two experienced fly fishing guides on Grand Cayman island.  The best was Captain Ronald Ebanks http://www.flyfishgrandcayman.com/.  I fished with Ronald and had a good time but unfortunately the weather was poor on the days we fished.  We did not even see bonefish ourselves but his camera was loaded with pictures of clients holding medium-to large-sized bonefish.  Lots of jacks were caught.  My wife and I are thinking about going back next year and I have noticed a few new guides on the internet but can’t speak of their skills.  IMHO Ronald Ebanks knows the Cayman water better than anyone and he is a local and a damn good fly caster himself, highly recommended by me.
