Anyone have one and want to share some experiences using it?
I’ve got my hand/fingers caught in the articulations a few times.

I just picked one up (SLR version) on ebay.
I have not field tested it yet but it was able to hold onto rails and the backs of chairs at the wedding last weekend.

My initial idea was to use it to attach to my car roof rack and do a time lapse of our DC United supporter group tailgate from start to finish. Picked it up on ebay from Taiwan for $9 with a few bucks shipping. I plan to test it out this weekend on the Salmon River in NY.

    I’d be carefull.

Depsite their claims, they can’t support the weight of heavier lenses/bodies. I thought to buy one as somethng I could pack while wading streams, bushwacking, on hot days when I didn’t want the extra weight of my tri or mono pod.

Went to the store, mounted my 1D and 180mm and it collapsed under the weight. One of those images above shows a Rebel XT with a 100-400 L or its 70-200 f2.8 IS. Both of which are heavy lenses.

I dont think it can hold the weight of a 100-400.
    Can you use it?
Sure, but I wouldnt have my hands more than a few inches away.

I sometimes carry this with me on the stream, but only ever use it on my P&S Sony.

I have the SLR Zoom model, and it’s fine for my D300 with a 17-55 attached as long as you pay attention to where you put the feet, but I wouldn’t trust it with a bigger zoom like the 80-200.
