    Hey guys –

Neal Osborn and I hit a small creek in North Georgia today, looking for native brookies.  We found the brookies, but as the board member who tipped me off to the creek warned, they were very hard to keep pinned to the line.  I had six or eight strikes and lost six or eight fish after momentary fights.  They would hit the big hoppers, but evidently they couldn’t get their mouths around them.

Anyway, we encountered some ridiculous scenery and some very tight spots.  (Dr.) Neal was on call all last night and had barely slept, so give the man some credit (all I gave him was hell and some pancakes).

Tight was the order of the day.

What a beautiful creek, Zach. Too bad about catching brookies, but nice rainbow anyway. If that was near me, I would likely be there quite often. Catching brookies on small creeks is some of my favorite fishing.

Thanks again, Zach.  That was a great day . . . what a long 2 days this has been.  That was some technical fishing.  Seriously, my knees are bruised and that damn splinter won’t come out.  We need to hit that place again, maybe in the spring when we have a better chance at the brookies.

Cameron, the fiberglass rod got a very respectable workout today.

Great stuff! Stunning scenery. Love the moss and how GREEN it is! I once fished a very small stream in Oregon that reminds me a bit of your images. That small water looks like a blast to fish and to hike. Did you need to use a lot of stealth approaching the holes? Did you guys spook a lot of fish?
