Just moved from Western Pa into our new home in Anchorage AK. Space is a little tight inside the house.  Looks like I will be relegated to the garage.  It’s detached, heated with a concrete floor.  It will stay between 35 and 45 degrees in there all year long.

Does anyone see any problems with storing rods in tubes, waders and boots in the garage?

    Thanks,

While the temp will not be an issue, the humidity may be during the warmer months.

You won’t have any problems storing your gear in a garage, heated or not.

Kbilcher…..ever thought of renting that garage to a couple of fisherman?

When I fly in to ANC for a fishing trip….I usually spend the first night at a bed and breakfast or hotel…typically $200 a night. I do this to rest before hitting the highway the next morning. If you had a couple of bunks, toilet and shower…..nothing fancy…..I could see where a fisherman would gladly pay $100 to stay a night or two.

Lodging costs are crazy expensive in downtown ANC.

    Just a thought.

Great idea.  Might be a tough sell to the wife!

Have you checked out any of the backpackers hostle in town?  Never stayed there but seems OK.

I have not but that is a thought.

The past few times….I’ve stayed at Coastal Trail B&B off of Spenard. Nice place and Sherry and her husband are great hosts.
