Anyone from Baltimore?  Can we confirm that fried lake trout is becoming a delicacy?  Honestly, it sounds tasty. I found this article interesting but it left me wondering if these are true lake trout or more likely farm raised fish of uniform size.

They arent trout…they are Whiting, or silver hake…we call it Jack Salmon here in St. Louis.

It’s usually served at church fish fries and accompanied by ketchupy spagetti, mayo coleslaw, red potatoe salad, and white bread. Different, but still good eats!

Gotta watch for those name changes.

Can’t remember what that fish is but it is not a lake trout.  Could very well be a whiting.  It is sold at inexpensive restaurants.  I would think true lake trout, if it is available commercially, would be relatively expensive.
The Chesapeake bay has striped bass, flounder, hardhead [croakers], white perch, shad, yellow perch and blue fish.  In these parts stripers are known as rockfish .
I moved from Baltimore 40 yrs. ago.  Still fish the bay though and still live in Maryland.
