Found this quick read somewhat interesting.
This is really pretty funny. Fracking liquid contains acrylamide and benzene among other chemicals. Both have been identified as carcinogens for 30-40 years now. While fracking can be done safely and the resulting gas and oil would go a long way to making us energy independent and create thousands of new jobs, that is simply not how it’s done in many cases. The infamous Halliburton Loophole pretty much insures they can do it any way they please.
I’d be interested to see if the governor of Alaska would drink the effluent from a cyanide leach gold mine to promote the Pebble Mine.
Fracks vary by operator, formation, type of well, etc.
when I was a kid growing up in the sticks the title of this blog had a complete different meaning-
they keep building those fracking developments and traffic here is going to be as bad as in the big city
😀

benzene is a naturally occuring hydrochemical and is found in crude oil.
Do you have any idea how many waste injection wells already exist? Probably a lot more than we could imagine. Seems to be very politicly popular to blame every fracking well on polluted water.
My dentist once told me that it’s perfectly safe to put those fillings in my mouth that contain mercury, then he told me that the EPA requires they be disposed of with government regulated companys. (no landfills)
Who are we supposed to trust? Probably neither business or government is completely honest with us.
I just hope I can continue to afford to heat my home and drive/fly to my fishing spots.
Randy,
Not only will neither group likely be honest with us the even scarier part is how little they know about the actual impact.
