Well, we had an earthquake centered in Oklahoma today, and I felt it here (in North Texas) sitting at my laptop this morning. Apparently, initial reports are this was not a seismic event. We’re on the Barnett Shale here, and some agency is citing drilling / fracking as the cause.

A little more research would reveal – there’s hardly any desert in West Texas.

Scroll down, and you will see individual links to five different parts of a series that NPR did on horizontal drilling in Michigan.  In my opinion, I think that the coverage is a bit critical and one sided, but at least there is some meaningful information here.
