I believe the site may be filling a gap within this community. I want to thank everyone again for such great support. I would like to make a callout for all the “educators” out there who could help bridge a gap between the youth and us parents. I see a great potential in adding good quality writing and education to the fishy kid site. This could round out the site and make it a great tool for all of us.
Cameron and I started this as a “fun” project that could include our kids and originally were going to run the contest within our blogs. The “site” part of this idea really came out of necessity because the submissions from all the artist were so amazing. “Fishy Kid” and the web aspect were only born within the past month of this idea. The follow up from the fishing community and gear manufacturers has taken it another step further.
There is a hole that needs to be filled and I am reaching out to all of you now for the “EDUCATION” side of this. If we can really hit this side and make it fun and accessible for everyone, this could become a great tool for the entire fly-fishing community.
