what would be everyone’s fly line recommendation for a 9′ 6wt rod?

I’m a fan of Scientific Anglers GPX line for my 6wt.

Big thumbs up on the GPX! I use those for my 3 – 6 rods.

I have loved my Rio Grand line.

If you want a good line at a great price check out the Bass Pro CV2. I’ve heard it is made by SA. I’ve had that line on my favorite trout rod for 2 years. It’s been a very good line. $20. It’s not worn out yet despite being used almost every weekend.

2 years ago I put Rio’s top of the line fly line ($60) on my wife’s rod and the BP CV2 on mine.

For a rod that doesn’t need tweaking of the action up or down I like the Rio Selective Trout. It floats… right out of the box and is as slick as any. If you need a lot more mass, try the Rio Grand. If you just need a slight overlining the SA GPX is a good bet, just prep it to float!

A couple of years ago I bought a Courtland 555 ghost tip WF floating line.

Lately I’ve had trouble finding a fly line I really liked, but recently I picked up a SA XPS 3wt line and really like it. Floats well, casts great and stays slick for a long time. I think I’ve used it for 6 months now and cleaned it 3 times. I prefer the Grey color myself……

I have also used Cabela’s Prestige Plus lines and have been happy with them for the price. Looks like they are closing some of them out now for about $25.
