I love taking pictures and I love sight-fishing for snook. When beach snook season arrives, it’s the best of both worlds. In my area, beach snook season begins in April and runs through September. Often, we’ll see 400 or more fish per morning.
This past season was very good until westerly winds set in and ruined things.
My top morning was 40. One day, I took a neophyte fly fisher and we combined for 50.
Average fish is 20-22 inches. However, this past season was exceptional. We caught a lot of fish of more than 30 inches.
I use a 6-weight rod, sinktip line, 10-pound leader with 25-pound fluoro bite tippet and a D.T. Special or my Wide-Eye Snook Fly.
I post this report here because of the photos!
