Today was the final day of the Yellowstone fishing season. Doesn’t open up till the end of next May. I’ve fished a few openers in Yellowstone over the years but never the closer. I remember catching several Rainbows in the 1973 opener on a leadwing coachman. Today was my first final day of the season in the park. It was an overcast, drizzly day on the Firehole. Air temps in the 40s and water in the 60s. I think the fish knew this was the last day so they started early and never stopped.
