I have only hit this sight for a couple of days now and it feels like a home lost now found. I found it through iTunes and the Podcast. Probably the best fly fishing content in a podcast. Good stuff. I loved the Tibor Nemeth interview, after all my years running art departments, it was hard not to.
And now I have found this sight that talks about fishing, photography, art, bluegrass (I tend to listen to the old Lomax and Smithsonian
Kevin that is a great story. Even though parts of it are sad your tragedy seems to have changed you for the better. Amazing how it sometimes takes an event like this to make us stand back and reevaluate our lives and figure out what is important and what is not. It sounds like the most important things in your life were saved from the fire. You, your wife, your expected child, your beagle, and most importantly your memories. All that other “stuff” can be replaced!
no sadness. All is great. I had great insurance and it was just stuff and it changed My well being.
The time it is taking to get it all back together is the only hard part. AND cardboard from all the stuff I have to put together is taking over my life. Good thing I live 2 minutes from the recycling center.
I love Roscoe Holcombe. Doc Boggs has got to be one of my favorites. I have been listening to a Black Banjo songsters CD that I found from years past on my iPod. The carolina ocolate drops has got to be the best groups out right now. And you cold never go wrong with Bill Monroe. ALL the Alan lomax RECORDINGS ARE PRETTY AMAZING.
NOW that would be fun. Take Alan lomax Idea of recording folk america and expand it a little. Include local fishing, local flies, local food. THAT WOULD BE A FUN PROJECT.
