The “Favorite Rods” thread got me thinking of the rods that I still would like to add to the collection and near the top of that list is a fiberglass rod.

Thomas and Thomas has come out with an Heirloom Series and Diamonback made some glass rods. I have cast the ScottbFibertouch its a sweet rod. Several people I know the fish mountain streams use a 7.5 or 8 foot 4 weight.

    Hey Cameron –

I’ve gone through much of the same line of thinking you’re going through.

Some of the cane sites will have sections devoted to vintage fiberglass rods and they will cost about a third of what the new Scotts, Winstons, and T & T’s cost. Diamond back is still producing a glass series of rods, they are nice casting and affordable.

I think that a 4 wt rod would useful on a larger spectrum of water if you intended to use it quite a bit.
