MemberLee We caught a handfull. Â Truth be told we spent a day trying to get Threshers to eat a fly. Â I had shots, and screwed them all up. The next day we decided that we would look for animals a little more willing to eat.

MemberWe happen to have had a couple video camera’s on board Leonard. Â One captured me missing a Thresher about five times, followed by a 30 second string of, cussing myself out for being such an idiot.
Check out the Bend in this 16:

Can’t imagine the rush just before the take.Jun 19, 2008 at 12:50 am #26555Aaron Otto
MemberJohn, you know how you get tight in your gut & hold your breath when you cast to a fish rising steadily?
Jun 19, 2008 at 1:26 am #26556
John BennettMemberSure, bait me more 🙂
The waters I ply for LM and Lunge are shallow, usually less than 3 feet and almost exclusively top water. I know that gut check well when they give themselves away by boiling under an offering or when they make a V on the surface as they come screaming in from 50 feet away.
Its all visual and yeah words cant describe the rush as you wait for it.
Ive actually had a huge Lunge come in from 50 feet and tail smack the side of my canoe. While it wasn enough to threaten spilling me it was enough to get me kneeling on in the center, paddle spread across the gunwhales and hands well inside 🙂
I think Id risk a coronary with Sharks

MemberJohn,
Sounds great. Â I don’t think I’ve ever seen a Lunge? Sorry, I’m not sure what it is. Guessing a shark of some type?
Here is a little shot of the site logo and the second one has my big catch of the trip in it.

My buddy has some video he’s sending me will post when it arrives.
