Jim I asked if you were around in the flyshop in Cincinnati, but the dude working there did not know you.

I’ve had this debate with my friends too.  “Steelhead” is a non-scientific descriptive term based on how they look.  These were football shaped and bright chrome.  They are all Onchorhynchus mykiss, and having a debate about subspecies is a little like arguing over whether Georgians are racially superior to Alabamans (they are).

Don’t y’all wish. But if you folks work hard and are living right then you folks might get close. Just remember that there are only two types of people in the world. Those that are from Alabama, and those that wish they were.

The fishing, scenery and generally everything about Ohio is lousy; y’all should head somewhere else next time.  😉

    Absolutely.

To add more insult to injury, Ohio doesn’t even have a decent trout stream anywhere in the state.

As was told me by a huge U of M fan, the tree’s in Michigan lean south and the tree’s in Kentucky lean north ‘cuz Ohio sucks so much!

    Sorry… I just had to

Did not take a lot of photos; the Erie tribs are not exactly scenic, for one (we fished the Grand at a place they called “Uniroyal,” having parked next to an abandoned chemical factory

Lol, welcome to our world 🙂
Never fished an Erie trib but I have no reasons not to think they are that much disimiliar from what we fish on North Shore Lake O.
Basically drainage ditches that flow through urbanisation/farmland.

lmao, if I showed images that were truly more reflective of them rather than the wee snapshots within the greater image. Its work finding decent sections and hence why I get so envious of those out west where you can play pin the tail, take the blindfold off an be looking at something beuatiful 🙂

the fishing can is fantastic though so you often overlook the less than pristine trout waters until you hook up with a shopping cart 🙂

You should make a trip in the fall Zach for some of the fall runs.
