So there’s this island in the middle of Lake Blue Ridge. Technically it is part of the National Forest, where you are allowed to camp anywhere you want. Thus people sometimes camp on the island, and there is even a nice wooden table thing someone built out there.
I took my girlfriend Tracy out for some wintertime camping.
It was pretty epic.
Here’s how much crap you can cram into a Gheenoe if you’re motivated. There’s maybe 20 sticks of firewood under the towel in the front.

The lake is down so the island is showing its bones.

We found someone’s lost fiberglass deck panel and used it as a wind shield:

I also brought my new Dutch Oven so I could do some cooking.
