MemberFrom my experiences, awesome customer service. I sent three of four sections floating down river on the Bighorn. I called them, told them all I had was the cork end, and after I sent it in I received a new rod. And I even admitted the fault was my own. Like I said, great customer service.
I have had two of their rods, and both did their job well. I had a 6 and an 8 at some point, but I had no issue selling them. Take from that what you will, but I felt that they lacked feel and sensitivity that I have witnessed in my other rods. Keep in mind though, this was almost three years ago, and I have not cast any of their recent products.
For the money, and the warranty, get a TFO.Jul 2, 2009 at 1:39 pm #37810stuart cawthon

MemberI have not cast the new rods myself either, but from what others have told me they are a clear improvement over the echo “classics” and echo2s.

MemberI have used and abused a few Echo rods… for the price and the function they are a great tool! Took some big fish on them with no issues [profile pic was with a Echo classic 6wt] . I use the 5,6 & 8 wt. I’d happily fish one any day. With the over priced rods these days its awesome to see a good rod at an affordable price.
Curious to what rod your looking at? anything specific?

MemberI have an Echo Spey rod. It think it’s a great rod for the money. Everyone who has one seems to feel the same way.

MemberI’ve got 2 Echo rods and have been very pleased with them. For the “poor” Flyfisher it’s affordable and good value.

MemberI’m definetly looking at them for a 7 wt. to do a lot of my big streamer work…but don’t wanna spend too much since I don’t fish that way all too often, looks like a good fit.

The Itinerant AnglerEcho has a similar business model to TFO.

MemberF I S H Â & Â F L Y Â ( 2007 Tackle & Travel issue ) Â had a review of Nine-Foot 5 wt. Fly Rods . Two categories Premium ($300 + ) & Value ( under $300).
Echo 2 was the highest rated value rod and Orvis TLS was lowest.
