In the long run it’ll just make books on paper more valuable…….. so we’ll keep printing them on paper.

The new SONY readers will be even better than Kindle in the next 18 months.

The big problem is that for many small publishers, like mine, it’s not easy to convert to the Kindle format.

Quark, unfortunately, doesn’t easily convert to HTML.

So if you have a book coming out I’d try to make sure ahead of time that the publisher will be able to convert to HTML.

I got my wife a Kindle last month for her birthday, and now I regret doing so. She will not put it down. She downloaded the entire works of Shakespeare, for $0.99, in less than two minutes. I too was concerned about eye-strain, but when I saw the pages on the Kindle that concern quickly died. The screen packs in 16 tones of gray, and as was mentioned above, is no harder to read than a book. I had considered waiting for the third or even fourth generation of the Kindle, so that perhaps there would be more features, like a touch screen, but then I saw and read the rumors of the Apple Tablet. Hopefully, this will be ready by Christmas:
