Good news (and bad), I decided last week to trade the $800 Hyde in towards a 2010 Hyde LowPro XL (complete with G4 bottom, Yetti Front Seat, 3/4 Rower’s bench, and rear storage seat)…so the $800 Hyde will be headed back to Idaho in the next few days and my new boat will be delivered (coincidentally, Matt Hyde was great to work with in setting up my “new to me” boat the way I wanted it).
There are YouTube videos and other tutorials on the internet. They are not specific to drift boats, but that doesn’t really matter. Google: fiberglass repair and gel-coat repair.
I found gel coat cheap on eBay. About half what you would pay anywhere else. Look on the label of the can. There is an address and phone number. I called the number and spoke to someone who was very helpful regarding application. I had decided to roll it on and he mentioned making sure the roller had a plastic center and not cardboard and a lot of other good tips. Call him up and talk to him if you have questions.
