    I have often said that the only reason I attempt to be a photographer is that I cannot draw/paint. I wish I could.

    Very cool. It’s always fun to sit down and draw. I never do it anymore, but I often paint and do drawings within some of my paintings, so I guess that counts.
    If you’re going for a realistic representation, be wary of the heavy outlines. Most things in life don’t have a thick black outline around them. Of course it’s difficult to define edges of objects without them.

    Good job, and keep it up.

    Here’s a Hex fly from my sketchbook that I drew in ’06. (I just did a crappy capture using photobooth on my laptop, so it’s not the greatest quality.
