I’ve got a question about one of the materials that is used for the classic version of this fly.  Even though it’s relatively “new” a few different versions are appearing.  I am asking about the spey style classic Dirk Wiggler.  There is a material worked into the hackle that is something like rubber something like straw.  It’s limber but not as limber as rubber and it’s stuff but not too stiff.  I can’t figure out what it is.  Any help is apprecieated.

Sweet.  Thanks.  I am going to look for it locally and call TCO if needed.  TCO State College is a fine outfit, Paul Weamer’s a good dude.

How about a recipe / tying steps for the Dirk Wiggler?
