Destin FL for Labor Day

The wife and I just got back from Destin for an extended Labor Day weekend. I’ve been to Destin a few times now and I really wasn’t a big fan. However, this time we took the dogs and the boat down with us and we had a really good time. We tent camped at Fred Gannon Rocky Bayou State Park, which I highly recommend if you have a boat (and a few box fans). You pretty much have to be in the water during the day because it gets brutal, but at night it cooled down quite a bit and with fans and a fresh shower we slept like champs. The wife was really impressed with the showers (very clean). Checkout the video of me catching a Ladyfish with dolphins in the background at the bottom!

When we first arrived in Destin we hit our favorite restaurant, Stinky’s.
After this week, we have a new favorite restaurant, Boshamps. They let you boat right up to their dock and it is VERY dog friendly so we ended up eating here 3 times. The name Boshamps comes from the owners three dogs.

We picked up some gulf shrimp at Sextons and then hit the Donut Hole on our way out of town. Mmmmmmm Gooooood!
