T. WilesMemberZach,
I know my Optio is no contest to your amazing precision cameras, but I figured this would be a good shot to show the most fashionable fishing crew with whice I’ve ever shared a boat.Oct 7, 2008 at 3:27 am #29835jarrod white

InactiveZach,
Interested in those Cloudveil pants you and Lauren have in those photos.
1. Product name?
2. Retail price?
3. Have they been officially released yet?Oct 7, 2008 at 5:34 pm #29839Zach Matthews

MemberI’m lazy today so I’ll just cut and paste the report from my board.
Fished Cumberland last weekend with Zach and Lauren Matthews and Travis Wiles (Twiles).
It was a fun weekend and the weather was great. I really love early fall when leaves are just starting to turn, the humidity is gone, and the colors and smells seem so much more vivid and sharp. The fishing was pretty good but not any better then Caney Fork. I don’t think I’d make the drive since Caney seems to be on fire lately. On the other hand the Cumby is known for good dry fly action and this weekend was no exception. Sun there was a massive hatch of winged ants going on and the fish were responding with toilet bowl flushing rises. We were looking to get a large fish but all the fish rising was more then I could stand. I quickly tied on a size 16 black ant and it was game on. It was fish after fish (all small) until I was almost out of gink. Fish on a dry is great fun and I’ll sacrifice fish size to chase the top bite most any day.It was a fun weekend with some really great people. We’ve made this trip an annual event for about four years now and I was wondering how long it would continue. I imagined us as old men and women sitting around that wood porch reminiscing about these days. I wondered what the places would look like 20 years from now and imagined how good the fishing could be. I was thankful they didn’t stock Taimen in the Cumby haha!!

MemberNice photos, it looks like you all had a good time. I floated the Cumby this summer. I had a blast. Some of those areas look pretty familiar. Did you all put in at Winfrey’s ferry and motor up river to camp? That seems to be the preferred M.O.
I’d like to do an overnight kayak float trip in the spring and camp at Snow Island.
