There has been a lot of talk on other boards about these shoes. Most seemed to think you were gay or had gender issues if you wore them. Well I was one who also thought they were pretty goofy looking until I tried a pair on this spring. I loved them and have defended the ugliness of these shoes every since.
Well yesterday I wore them wet wading in a creek that is extremely difficult to wade because it is mostly round rocks about the size of your fist and bigger. The rocks just shift and roll around under your feet and make walking any distance at all a chore. I was AMAZED at how those shoes seemed to conform around the rocks and not slip. I aint kidding, these shoes seem to wrap around the bottom and stick like Lizard’s feet. Yes, they are ugly as hell but I think they just might be the best water shoes I have ever tried and I’ve been ruining shoes in the water since I was knee high.
While I am on the topic of shoes,,,, I also bought a pair of Keens this year and so far I don’t care for them. They are hard to get on and off and it’s almost impossible to get rocks out without removing them. Other then that, I think they will last for several years and they are OK for standing for long periods. The crocs are THE SHOE for standing for long periods!
I paid $100 for the Kreens and $30 for the Crocs….
I’ll post another report at the end of Summer to see how the Crocs held up. So far they seen indestructible.
