CO fishing advice

My family and I are heading to CO for a week long family vacation towards the end of July/1st of Aug. Mostly a family trip but I’m planning to spend a couple of days fishing. Our rough plan is to spend a few days in Durango, Denver, and CO Springs. I’m looking for some advice on Fly fishing in CO. My only experience is that many years ago my wife and I took a rafting/fishing trip on the Arkansas river. It was fun but I really prefer to wade fish.
I’m thinking Durango is probably my best bet for my limited fishing time? I was maybe thinking about fishing the Animas one day and driving over to the San Juan in New Mexico another day? Good plan?
So I’m really looking for advice on these 2 rivers or other areas to fly fish in CO/North New Mexico.
As far as my previous Fly fishing experience – I live in MO and consider Taneycomo (a fabulous tailwater) my home waters. But I also fish some smaller MO streams fairly regularly.
