Cleaning out the closet – rods, shoes, vest, flies

I’m cleaning out the closet while I’m home in the states and trying to get rid of some of the stuff that I’m not going to take to NZ with me.
First up,Echo 8/9 spey rod. This rod is a couple years old, but has only been cast once (lawn cast). It has never seen water. I’d rather see someone else get use out of it than have it sit in my closet with the possibility of using it in the future. This rod got reviews as being highly competitive with other rods of 3 times the cost. Comes with sock and canvas-covered rod tube. Zipper on rod tube broke the first time I unzipped it so I just duct-tape it shut. I am unsure of what retail on this rod was, but I believe it was approximately $300-350. Current Echo 2-handers run about $350. Sold.
Airflo Delta Spey WF8/9F line. Two tone mint/green color. Bought new with the above rod, spooled up once and lawn cast. Like new condition. Retails for $85. SOLD
Orvis Streamline 10′ 8wt. rod. A few years old. Used for great lakes salmon/steelhead. A low-end rod, but a great back-up rod or for someone looking to get on the water for cheap. Retails for $109. SOLD.
I just found an old 8wt. Salmon/Steel fly line too. It’s used, old, and probably pretty crappy, but I’ll throw it in for free for whoever buys this rod.
Simms Pursuit Wading Shoe, Size 11. Only wore them a few times. In very good condition. Retail for $120. Asking $55 shipped.
I’ve got a bunch of flies that I just don’t use anymore. Would gladly give them to a new home for cheap. Selling these was more of an afterthought as they are all good flies and productive patterns. I simply don’t foresee myself using them in the near future and would rather get a couple bucks and send them to someone who would get real use out of them.
Tailwater fly assortment. A little over 170 flies, mostly size 18 and smaller. Zebra midges, poison tungs, rojo midges, barrs emergers, rs2s, hares ears, biot emergers, rainbow warriors, a few scuds and mysis, etc., etc., etc. I basically cleaned out a bunch of what I have smaller than a 16 because I simply don’t fish them anymore. Most were bought from shops, some of the zebra midges were tied by me. 172 flies +/- counting error, asking $80 shipped.
Hoppers. 31 flies. Various patterns. A few stoneflies and a moth mixed in there as well. SOLD.
Stoneflies and hex nymphs. 35 flies. Most are beadhead or conehead. I used these patterns for great lakes steelhead and early season trout on the stonefly feed. SOLD.
Smallmouth/trout streamers. 19 flies. Great smallmouth patterns. Very effective on trout too, especially in rivers that have crayfish populations. SOLD
Streamers. 31 flies. Zuddlers, marabou muddlers, and buggers. SOLD.
Streamers. 12 flies. A couple articulated butt monkeys, a few rainbow smolt (only 1 of them is articulated), a nutcracker, a handful of double bunnies, etc. SOLD (in a shop, the art. butt monkeys and TA rainbow will run you more than that alone).
Simms G3 Guide Vest, XXL. Used for about 3 or 4 seasons. Great vest. Used, but still in good shape. No longer use it as I have moved to using a sling or backpack. I believe it retailed for $180 when I bought it, currently retails for $200. SOLD
Echo Micro Practice Rod. Like new condition. Retails for $37. SOLD
I’m mainly looking to sell, but would trade for a good saltwater 8wt. reel, backup saltwater 8wt. rod (would love to get a St. Croix Ultra), or bonefish and saltwater baitfish flies.

got the vest today, like you I have been vestless for a few years, but at times on my tailwater wish I had one, now I got the Cadillac.
