I have been starting to play with my bamboo rods again and it might be time for an upgrade in reels.

Dave…I’ve kind of got a thing for old school clickers too and have pointed my collection to the J.W. Young reels out of England.

Great info from Zach and Will on the tricks of the hunt for these classic reels.

A classic reel with a modern twitch I would also add Winston Perfects. These are Hardy made Perfects made for Winston in the well known Winston green color in the early 1990 era.

Bill Ballan reels have been going pretty cheap lately also. I saw one go for $160 on another forum this week.

I’ve had my eyes on an eariler Hardy Uniqua in the 3″ or 2 7/8″ range for years

The Sage 505L is a pretty nice reel as well. Classic clicker, made in England by Hardy.
