Steve K.MemberJay,
Have you thought about how you’ll finish the hull? Two-part epoxy paint….spray lacquer??
I’m re-habbing an old Clacka and have wet-sanded the hull. A preliminary buffing has it looking decent. Of course your’s will need something a little more intense.

Jay MalyonMemberI am going to respray the hull with automotive base coat / clear coat. The color coat is polyester based and the top coat is catalyzed poly urethane. It will look good. I own a body shop and auto paint retail business so supplies are readily available and touch ups or repairs going forward will be doable.
I have been sanding away quit a bit here lately, nothing photo worthy though. Just me covered in dust and surrounded by beer cans.

MemberSorry to bring up such an old thread but while searching drift boat fiberglass repair on Youtube I found the original video. In my search for more info on it, I found this thread. I was so excited to read each and every post. I carefully reviewed the details of each and every picture, then….nothing! What??? No finished boat? Can’t be?!
Was the project finished? It couldn’t have just been abandoned, could it?

I feel like there’s no recent blog post on this website, I guess it is better if you look for an active forum to help you with this matter.

Jay MalyonMemberHahaha well…it has not been abandoned. But it’s not finished. All of the fiberglass work on the hull is complete and its waiting to be primed. Happy to help with any questions you have in the meantime.
I got into another boat project and have to get it complete before I can bring the clacka into my shop to be primed and painted. I’ll try and take some pics in the morning of where it’s at now.

Current picks would be great but don’t go out of your way. I was just really curious where it ended up after all the effort and energy that was put into it. Thanks for the reply.
