    A 5 is a little light, especially if those somanobatching fish are big bastages (i’m tracking the JD reference).

    Carp are really hard to catch unless they are actively feeding.

    I do not hate carp.  It’s not every day that you can find a fish that’s close to home, challenging to catch on a fly, and a day with half a dozen fish in the 4 to 5 pound range is just average.

    as usual, your bastages are all good guys.

    thanks for the input: i will let you know when i hop out there again…seeing as how it is only about 8 mins from my house, tucked into a secret area in st. paul i can’t go wrong.

    also, going to hit the driftless next week with the dudes from driftless area fly anglers….will keep you all posted.
