I turn to the experts here.

I really like the way my little point and shoot captured this image of Joel walking across a bridge of the Clark Fork. I know nothing about photography and nothing about PhotoShop type programs.  My question is, can this image be cleaned up with a program like that?

Is it possible to make things disappear? Like the dwelling with the collection of probably out of service vehicles on the right. The private property sign on the fence, maybe even the dwelling behind Joel.

Is it a long process? What might it cost if I had to pay someone to do it?

Any other info you have to offer.

    Thanks,

    Ron

Dang it! I forgot to post the image. Here it is.

    Nice picture Ron..

The short answer is yes, you could do a lot with it in Photoshop, you can do almost anything if you’re willing to spend the time.

The truth is that it’s a lot of work and does it really need doing ?

I like the shot ( and all fishing shots ) as is, once you start messing around with stuff it’s easy to go to far and loose the things that make it real.

One easy thing that could be done is to blur the background a little more much like you would get if you shot it with a DSLR and a longer lens.

IMO it would make the angler stand out a bit more from the background.

A picture is thousand words that takes less than a second while a thousand words is a picture that takes a month.

This is on the same vein as David’s suggestion.  5 Min in Photoshop.  With more time you could make the gradient of the separation much cleaner

Thanks for the examples guys. That’s some pretty cool stuff. I may look into learning a little about that this winter.

Soo many wannado’s, soo little time.  ;D
