    Hey guys,

I went in last night to download some photos from that last week and for some reason my Canon 30D will not “communicate” with my computer when I plug in the USB chord.

Have any of you guys run into this problem?

Nothing a reboot and reconnect has not solved. Try that.

Does your computer see the connection..ie camera device or drive G etc? If you suspect its the card you could try takinga hot or with an old card and then connecting. That should help narrowit down some.
If the card most camera/print stores have card readers to allow Jonny Q to come in, read the card and print a bunch. You could try bringingthe card in to see if “their” readers can see the files. Worst case if it is the card they could dump them onto a cd for you in the interim.

I know that this sounds like an odd question but I ask it for one specific reason. What brand of cards are you using? I was talking with large group of pro’s that had experienced the exact same thing, with some cards from one manufacturer. Talk about a highly pissed off group of people, but I had the smiles as I don’t experiment with what I rely on and I don’t change until I read lots of historical feed back :).

Could it be a drive letter problem? I’ve had that happen with flash drives before.

Nikons have two different USB modes and it got changed on mine once when it was in for service causing it not to communicate with my computer.
