I’ve got a question for any of the rod builders out there… I have a Orvis TLS where has the top 1/3rd of the grip has separated from the rest of cork, and is basically free to spin around the rod.

Hey Eric, I’m not sure how much you like that TLS to begin with (I never liked those rods fwiw)…

Epoxy, cork sealer and a clamp.

Look, I have been against sending rods or products back that people just wear out ever since I toured Simms’ factory and saw the stuff that people *expected* them to replace.

Thanks guys, it is going in regardless, i am just hoping it falls under the “replace” and not “repair” part of the warranty.  I’ve had the rod 3 years i think, and almost immediately it developed a sqeak in the grip, and in the last year it has come completely loose.  I have tolerated it long enough, and now its time to get it fixed.

I was actually thinking about a car door, Carter.  I’m not sure i could bring myself to do that though, kinda goes against how i was raised.  I watched one time as an Orvis guide, who isn’t a guide anymore, broke a (already broken) rod in 4 pieces over his knee in front of the shop he worked at.  “Just want to make sure they replace this thing and don’t try to fix it” he said.

I read the same thing in regards to getting a T3 for a TLS, i think it was on this site.
