    Zach,
    I don’t believe I did this.  I nail knotted close to the loop where the fly line isn’t.  Then used Knot sense.  Then I realized what I had done.   I guess I ruined the braid?  It’s not the first time I used a braid. I hope you will say I am okay, but doubt that. Oh well,  I guess some will have a laugh over my dilemma

    Cut it off and try one more. You have at least 12 inches+ before you change the way the line casts. That knot needs to be on the braid.
    No harm in tying knot on the braid and trimming the braid behind the knot.
