    i am trying to figure how to protect my transom on my driftboat when i run a small outboard.the motor chips the top of the stern and scratches the gelcoat. any ideas for

    Is it a wood transom or glass boat?
    A couple slabs of marine fir plywood would work.

    I agree with Dave; most transom-mount motors have a pair of adjustable clamps kind of like a fly vise, right?

    ITs a 16 lp clackacraft. we flipped it over a few weeks ago and repaired the chines and bottom. after all that i looked at the transom and

    Agree with Zach and Dave, just some plywood should work for you.

    Yeah, you’re basically just looking for something to take the local point-loads of the engine clamps off the transom, and distribute those out over a wider surface (so they don’t punch into your glass work).

    Hyde makes a motor mount that will fit over your transom but it is pricey
