Well it’s time for our annual fall fishing trip and due to my soccer schedule it seems to get pushed into November the last three years.

Hope you do well there Eric. One of the many trips I have made there came in early November. We spent most of one rainy day at the first tiny island just down from afterbay. There is a shoal there that holds lots of fish and we had an incredible day fishing a bwo hatch. My waders let go that day, but I refused to get out of the river.

Cabins always.  Gets a little cold in November out there

Yeah, it was pretty chilly in my tent in early April.

No better time on the horn than November (except maybe the odd August/September hopper infestation).

The only thing rattling will be the flies on the drift boats!

    Please post often.

I just got introduced to the Bighorn this September by KBilch. Incredible place. The pheasant population was quite destracting.

    Very jealous.

    Mike,
When we were there last year at this time we would float the river and see rafts of 50 to 200 ducks in the back eddy’s.  There was always ducks and geese flying around us.

Mike please stop. I have another week until Goose/Duck opens here.

That’s insane. It’s been a while since we hunted the river. I remember setting up below thirteen mile one morning and it was slow. I walked upstream to fish while my buddy sat on the bank , hunting over the decoys. I hooked a nice fish or two and talked him into coming and getting some pictures. As soon as he got back over the decoys, he started dropping gadwalls, one after another. I miss it. We still have three weeks till the season opens here in Tennessee and even then, it will be slow until around Christmas.Keep the post coming.
