    Hey guys –

Carter showed me Kayak.com, which is a nice tool for comparing air fare prices.

    Zach,
If you can go round trip from Atl to idh for 207, I’d jump on it.

1.) You plan your trips way too far in advance.

2.) Your chances of understanding and defeating the airline ticket pricing algorithm are worse than winning the lotto.

If you see a good deal, jump on it no matter how far in advance it is.

I couldnt find a flight to Idaho Falls for under $600 this summer and I have 3 major intenational airports to choose from.

$207/person is great and well worth an extra couple hours of driving.

My wife is the queen of booking travel, be it motels, rental cars, airlines, trains, boats or anything else.

Set up a fair alert on Travelocity for all places you plan on flying, set your filter to a $200 max. Sends you email the minute that criteria is made.

    Zach,

I go to Yellerstone every summer for a little backpacking and flyfishing. I usually get my best deals in March and April for an August trip. Try http://www.sidestep.com . If you can get to Bozeman, West Yell, Cody, Billings, Jackson or Idaho Falls for less than $300….jump on it.

Make sure you check rental car prices before booking. Cars seem to be cheapest out of Billings and more expensive in West and Jackson.

One thing to look for Zach is the airlines ‘dump’ their tickets to the agencies like kayak, hotwire and such on Wednesdays and thursdays.

    Zach,

Check out a site called Yapta.com. They will track fares for you and let you know when prices change. Also they can help you get refunds from airlines if the prices dropped (bet you didn’t know that).

I just flew to bozeman and back for $600, if you can do it for less than 3 just do it.
