    Hi guys,

I have a Smartcast fishfinder thingy for use on my Floatboat (Abel travelcraft ) that’s given up the ghost and can’t be fixed here in OZ.

So I was looking for a small fishfinder that runs on battery and doesn’t cost as much as a divorce lawyer. 😉

I mainly used the smartcast for depth when fishing full sinking lines and Boobies – for that it was brilliant.

    Any suggestions ?

    Cheers.

Many of friends on the dark side use these:

They can be found at BassPro, Cabelas, and Academy, plus many more I am sure. But, a fishfinder and a fly go together like a vegemite and jelly sandwich. David, tell us you have not gone to the dark side…?

    What’s next……?

    Cheers!!

No, not a trip to the dark side.. 😉

I really only need depth for counting down a sinking line and finding the drop-offs..

Hi David, i use this. The depth finder is an eagle strata 128.

Olle, that looks like a good set-up, thanks for the pics.
I wonder though, do you ever scrape getting in & out of the water ?

Anyway, I ended up getting another Humminbird RF15 Smartcast because it’s the devil I know and I have a couple of the transmitters lying around.
There’s not a big range of this stuff here in Oz..

Hope this one lasts longer then the last.
