Hey guys, new member here ( see intro in the flyfishing section). Here are a couple simple baitfish flies. I’ve been experimenting with Craft fur dubbing brushes lately. I know these are kind of “scruffy” looking, but I think the fish won’t mind. Actually, they will hopefully be chewed to pieces by something with some teeth! 😉

Details:
Billy Pate saltwater hook, size 4
Eyes: glass beads strung on 50lb mono, melt ends to hold in place. Color end of mono black with a sharpie.
Throat: Craft fur
Wing: Ultra hair with a few strands of flash thrown in.
Head: Dubbing brush loaded with craft fur and wrapped around shank on front third of the hook, figure eight around the eyes, tie off.
Thread: to match body color.
Color top / back with prismacolor markers.
