I remember having a book that was from Kevin Howell, I think (should be easy for me to remember) It was southern Appalachian trout flies. I am going to buy the book again and start tying some of these but I am still to busy with other mess to start tying as of yet… I have a full plate right now so tying is not quite an option – fishing is. I cannot find these flies tied commercially. Does anyone know where I can get some of these flies?

    The Sheep Fly
    Hot Creek Special
    and I think Bill’s provider

I found the yallar hammer, which they call a yellarhammer. I have ordered from here before. They are very very nice; however, it can take a few days for them to ship.

    Kevin,

Don’t know about all on your list, but I have purchased sheep flies at Davidson River Outfitters, and I believe they have Bill’s Provider as well.

Kevin…Davidson River Outfitters will have all the flies you are looking for since Don Howell’s son, Kevin Howell, is the owner of the shop.

Sweeet. I’ll contact them today. Local flies are like local food. You gotta have it.
