The reason i ask is because i need to and am unsure what to expect as far as pricing and turn around time.  I broke my A3 today while practicing in the yard.  I had previously whacked the rod with a bead head woolly bugger and did noticeable damage to the tip section.  Today while casting, the tip section’s damaged area finally had enough and let go.  I have never used Scott’s warranty and figured someone here may have and could clue me in!

    Joe,

I used it last fall for my 5wt S3, after I broke the tip.

I’ve used it twice for an older G series rod. They are great. Just send call them and send it back.

I had a crack in a ferrule on a new rod, just a couple of months old.

I had a Winston once that broke first time out. I not only had to pay but they had the rod over a month!

Current price is $45, turnaround varies according to whether they have sections on the shelf, with older models sometimes they have to make a run of sections, that takes longer. Unfortunately I have had to make use of their repair service a couple of times in the last year and a half.

I did once, I did not have to pay, just to ship it to them. The shop I work with called them and they reached out to me and I had it back in about 1 week. It was not a major issue and I live in CO as well. BR

I’m exceptionally good at breaking rods. Scott always turns them around quickly (so much quicker than some others).

I once broke a rod 2 weeks before a big trip. I explained the situation and they turned the rod around in a week. That’s service.

    Truth.

Scott ought to turn around the rods in good time; they have worked hard to improve their warranty service and all reports are they have been very successful.

You’ll most likely talk to board member Ian Crabtree when you call in.

Not under warranty, but I had Scott re-wrap several guides on an aging Scott G.  As I recall the turn around was very quick and the shipping cost was fair.
