I previously worked for 3M, in their orthodontic products division. They make a UV light curable adhesive used for placing brackets on teeth – I don’t know a ton about it, but it’s probably somewhat similar to what you had listed. I’ll talk to a sales rep I know and see if he can offer any more info about it…

Loon has a similar product, UV Knot Sense, which they market to seal various FF knots, but I use as an epoxy replacement on Copper Johns and similar flies.

I am a senoir dental student and it sounds like a light curable composite material, that gets hard by being activated by photopolmerization from the LED light.

yeah, I allready use the UV knot sense, good stuff but this is something different.

Yes you use some sort of LED light to dry it, the ones they are supplying don’t quite run $800 luckily.

At the Somerset International Fly Tying Symposium, I saw Harrison Steeves with a dynamite hot orange ant, with the bod made of Loon’s Knot Sense.

hey, if you do wind up finding a cheap UV light at home depot that will cure UV knot sense indoors make sure I hear about it.

Look for “UV LED keychain” on eBay and you’ll find lots of such lights that are very inexpensive (e.g. under $5 including shipping).

I’ve already got five cheap UV lights for curing Loon Knot Sense.
