    Hey guys,
I just wanted to let you know about a slightly different tack we are taking here in Alberta wrt anti-poaching education.
The Alberta Conservation Association is spearheading a new slogan for Alberta’s RAP program. We have come up with a catchy/edgy slogan gauranteed to get folks talking about poaching and the issues that surround it. The slogan is “MY MEAT”S LEGAL”
The idea is make younger outdoorsmen/women more aware of the problem. It is a great play on words that is sure to grab folks attention!Currently the slogan is screened onto the front of a tee shirt along with the Report A Poacher contact info on the sleeve.
I know most fly fishers practise C&R often but there are times when it is sure is nice to do the shore lunch thing. As well, I’m pretty sure many of you guys hunt too.
I would like to invite you to check out the website, maybe buy a tee shirt and help spread the word about poaching as we all know it is a worldwide problem. There is a wealth of info there. http://www.reportapoacher.com
The ACA and RAP are non-profit so if you buy a shirt the profits go into RAP education.
I sit on the BOD of the ACA when I’m not out hunting/flyfishing or writing about it.
I wore my tee shirt along with my new IA hat out scouting for ducks today. Very cool fashion statement I was told.
    Thanks,
    Jeff

Thanks Tim. Since it kicked off 1 Sept 12 the response has been very positive, both inside and outside Alberta.

Ducks, yep, saw a few LOL
Seriously though, the sloughs I was checking out are around SE Alberta. There were very decent numbers considering thigs haven’t got going yet. It is still fairly warm but cooling overnight. The birds moving around are basically stocking up groceries for the trip and relaxing.
We’ll see what happens in a week or so.
    Jeff
