    My new 8wt did not come with a rod tube.

    Well, if looks don’t matter, go to your local hardware store and buy a piece of plastic pipe and end fittings.

    Abe, I’ve typically gone to Bass Pro Shops and bought thin wall PVC tubes that are cordura covered for between $19 & $30.

    I’m here Doc. The tube I purchased (Home Depot) is a little flimsey for everyday use. I use it when backpacking and only put my rod in it once I’m at the trailhead. It is strictly a weight-saving issue. I’d suggest BassPro if one is nearby. You can get the aluminum ones for about $20. Also check Ebay….they can be found for $10 or so.
