    What is the problem with your reel?
    Maybe you should just send it in with a note what the problem is.

    I once sent a Ross reel (Gunnisson) back to Ross and they just sent me a new one. Super service.
    I can’t imagine that such a company as Abel won’t do you a similar service.

    If you can miss it for a week or two, why not send it in?
    They can replace the handle and touch up some scars as well.

    I shipped an older Abel No 2 to CA on a Friday and the following Wed it was on my desk,,,modified per my request with no charge.  This was also a spool handle change request and change RH to LH wind (this was the early drag, today they are owner convertible).  They were first class for customer service and turn arround time.
