My son is at University of Wyoming and saw this documentary about what energy companies are doing in Wyoming. Check out the trailer here http://www.alandoutoftime.com/. I ordered a copy of the DVD and I’m going to show it to whoever I can. The government is allowing this crap to go on and its about time for hunters and fisherman to really start raising some hell.

It is pretty amazing stuff DMK. We have been fighting like hell here in Montana since Bush took office to protect the Rock Mountain front from the government coming in and drilling for coal methane. We also have a big battle brewing up in Canada (B.C.) where they want to do the same right next Glacier Park and the North Fork of the Flathead which is some of the best Bull Trout habitat in the lower 48!

The DVD came in today I’ll post my impressions after I watch it. It only cost 12.95 and shipping via regular mail is free.

Don’t get me wrong, I want to protect the rivers, mountains, etc, but it is easy to blame the Bush administration and the oil and gas companies, but as long as we drive our gas guzzling SUVs to go fishing, and then bitch when the price of gas hits $2.50/gallon, what do you expect.

I agree it is easy to point the blame flyfishertoo, but you have to admit that this president definitely lacks in environmentaly friendly policies. I don’t want to get into a big political debate. I would just like to see more being done to protect what we can’t replace.

Well I just watched the DVD and the primary issue is the fast tracking of natural gas drilling on Bureau of Land Management land and in National Forrests. Bush and Cheney have opened our public lands and its a mess. Scared land, poisoned livestock, ranches and lives ruined over a potentially huge area. There is hope though! People are organizing and politicians are listening in some areas. If anyone on the board wants to borrow my DVD I’ll send it to you if you promise to send it back. Zach is that legal?

The problem as I see it, is the same as the rest of politics and most policies, there seems to be no common sense middle ground. We either have to leave all land untouched, or we have to clear cut. That may not be a good analogy, but you get my point. Obviously we have to have fuels, to me,
