Well, I had a pretty busy summer. I brought my Canon XSI along with me to Rwanda, Tanzania, and British Columbia. Its been a few months, but I have finally gotten around to editing them. Just wanted to show off some of them and get some feedback.

    On My Way Home

    Cold Water
Tone-mapped RAW using photomatix and a little photoshop

    Lake Manyara Impala
Shot of an Impala buck at Lake Manyara in Arusha, Tanzania

    The View From Flag Point
Tone-mapped RAW, lowered saturation on selected colors

    Frankenstein
The peak in the middle-ish of the picture is named Frankenstein… tilt your head sideways

The only regret I have is that I didn’t bring a fly rod. It would have been worth the extra trouble to get it to British Columbia, atleast.

I have more up at my flickr page http://www.flickr.com/photos/jaymcdaniel/

    Nice Jay.
Im not a big fan of HDRs, migth have preferred to see the 2nd as is. Like the composition and placement of the isle in the last.

Guys, thanks for the comments. As for the HDR waterfall pic, the original picture was slightly out of focus. Somehow in the HDR process, it turned that shot into a much better picture. Combining the exposures added a better contrast of light and dark + great detail which was previously lost in shadows.

Thanks again for your comments–they are much appreciated.
