As a new member to the site, I simply wanted to introduce myself. I am lucky enough to live along the banks of the South Holston River in Northeast Tennessee. The fishing here is incredible year ’round. There are several other waters close by including the Watauga as well as some mountain streams with native brookies.

I usually go westward to the Rockies each year and have fished the Green in Utah, the Missouri and Smith in Montana and several remote Wyoming streams. Hard to beat the S.Holston though.

I was attracted to the site by the fabulous photography and always look forward to the new photos. The work is truly inspirational. I hope I can contribute to your discussions along the way.

    Zach,

The Smith River trip was not a multi-day float. I stayed on the “Heaven on Earth” Ranch. We fished for 2 1/2 days. Caught rainbows, browns, whitefish and the odd brook. Saw many black bear rather up close and personal (some no more than a just a few feet away). Spectacular scenery, miles from the nearest community. The float trip, I’m told is one the best ways to fish the Smith. Maybe one of these days when I retire to Montana.
