Well, I just participated in the 7th annual Freeze Your Ass Off fishing trip on the Provo river this Saturday. This was a fun get together with a bunch of guys and gals in the Salt Lake area. Everyone met at the Wagon Wheel Cafe in Heber City for a breakfast, coffee. Decided on a stretch of water, and invade it like we were taking the beaches of Normandy. Fish till you freeze your off and then head over to “The Other End” bar for beers, garlic burgers and NFL play-off football.
We rolled out to the Middle Provo off River Road with about 40 guys and gals. The weather wasn’t too cold, only 40 deg, didn’t need gloves or to de-ice. There were quite a few fish caught until around 1:00 when people stared to head out. I went to the Other End for a burger, beer and football and then went back to the river around 3:00 to see no one was left. Since it was warm, I went back out for the afternoon bite and got a few more.
We had a good time fishing and was probably the only time when you’ll see other fishermen throwing snow balls at those who looked too serious or were catching too many fish. It was all good.
